Investigating challenges faced by girls affected and/or orphaned by HIV/AIDS and educating them through sports. The AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa makes girls vulnerable, leaves them orphaned and threatens their survival. In the most affected countries in this region, children are missing out on what they need for survival, growth; development and progress on key national development goals are being jeopardized. Provision of education is a rightful to every child regardless of their gender and health status; education for all is a must. Universal declaration of Human Rights (1948), United Nations General Assembly adopted and proclaimed a resolution called universal declaration of human rights. It focuses on all spheres of human dignity and equal rights for all men and women. It advocates for human rights practices without injustice, violation of rights such as circumcision of girl-child, social progress, Nations to treat their citizens with dignity and standard life for all.
According to Mwaura (2002) some children suffer from hidden health, which are chronic and can hardly be noticed, e.g. emotions. Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) was discovered in early 1980s, it kills white cells that protect human body against diseases. 'Give Me a Chance' strives to eradicate illiteracy,promote sports among women and girls for social change hence encouraging life long learning to enable them make informed decision, become self-reliant and improving their livelihood.
