More about Court of Dreams
The Court of Dreams follows the journey of children between 3 and 12 years, the age in which one can leave a positive influence in a child forever. Pushed by rampant crime, drugs and thuggery, residents of up-market Langata estates, were faced with the need to find a safe and nurturing environment and could only find solace in Sadili, a not-for-profit community sports center developed from reclaimed land from an open sewer and situated adjacent to booth Langata and Kibera. Kibera women of Katwekera village were faced with the same fate, and gave up their vegetable gardens to make way for Sadili Oval to create a safe space for their children below 8 years to play, learn slum tennis with fashioned equipment, and important life skills. At 8 years, each child graduates to their “Dream Court”, comprised of young people from differing social and economic states, and, through tennis, getting inspired to become a leader in his/her community, learning and then mentoring others, building teamwork and carrying our brand with pride, as one family. Our program is uniquely different as we work on the complete child, with tennis and life skills training, and children are rewarded for both areas.
