MLS launch #SoccerForAll

This year, MLS, through its community outreach initiative, MLS WORKS, are launching a new platform called Soccer For All.

Soccer For All signifies that everyone is welcome to MLS regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status.

Officially launched on Thursday, March 15th, Soccer For All will be promoted throughout the 2018 season on broadcast, in-stadium and through social and digital channels.

The new campaign emphasizes Major League Soccer’s commitment to end discrimination and showcases the collective efforts taking place throughout the League to drive positive social change and foster more inclusive communities.

MLS is dedicated to supporting the communities where they live and play the game of soccer, and to providing an environment in which staff, players, partners and fans are treated with dignity and respect.

Built on the foundation established by Don’t Cross the Line, Soccer For All will integrate and promote a number of existing partnerships and programs, including the Special Olympics Unified Sports® soccer exchange program (matches between teams comprised of players with and without intellectual disabilities), RISE (the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality use sports to improve race relations by promoting understanding, respect and equality) and the U.S. Soccer Foundation (providing underserved youth with access to quality soccer programming and critical life skills).

The campaign will also support the clubs’ local efforts related to commemorative awareness months including Black History Month, LGBTQ Pride Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.

Sooccer For All is anchored by a public service announcement, representing all 23 MLS clubs, and depicts the diversity of the players and promotes the message that all are welcome. In addition to national promotion of the PSA, MLS and the clubs will also conduct various activations as part of the Soccer For All month in June. The month-long activation will showcase the collective efforts taking place throughout the League to foster more inclusive communities.

Fans are encouraged to show their support by sharing the PSA through their social media channels and joining the conversation on Twitter using #SoccerForAll.
