Soccer in the Streets Announces ATL Nations Cup 2018

Soccer in the Streets, the winners of last year's Beyond Sport Innovation & Tech Award, have announced their ATL Nations Cup 2018, a charity soccer tournament leading up to the World Cup that celebrates the international diversity in Atlanta and the beautiful game that unites. To participate, players raise funds in support of free youth programs for thousands of children in metro Atlanta.

This year, the tournament will be held on Sunday, April 29th at Grady Stadium and will have the participation of squads representing the United States, Great Britain, India, The Netherlands, Mexico, Germany, among others; a total of 8 teams will compete both on and off the field.

"It's great seeing so many soccer fanatics from different backgrounds coming together to raise funds and generate a positive impact within our communities," said Phil Hill, Executive Director. "The United States failing to qualify for the World Cup this year further demonstrates the need to invest in inner cities in order to provide greater access, cultivating and fommenting talent development from every corner of this country."

With many cultures represented and the opportunity to learn more about them, ATL Nations Cup is an incredible community event featuring competition and public education for a great cause. Participating sponsors include the British American Business Council, the Netherlands American Chamber of Commerce, American Outlaws, Buoyant Wine Storage, Gourmet Foods International, German Consulate General in Atlanta and Beko Technologies.

All proceeds benefit Soccer in the Streets' free youth programs in 30+ sites encompassing community, schools and life works programming, providing social change and education. Since 2017, Soccer in the Streets has helped over 9,500 kids.
