More about Open Doors for Inclusion

This project was inspired within the context of several major sports events in Brazil, such as the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in 2016. The team who idealized this project believes that sports are a part of education, with potential to increase students' interest in school and improve their learning performance.

In this scenario, the project "Open doors for inclusion - Sport for All" was born from a partnership established between the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Foundation FC Barcelona (FCB) and Rodrigo Mendes Institute (IRM)

Developed between 2012 and 2014, the initiative aimed to raise awareness and train teachers from different regions of Brazil to promote educational inclusion of boys and girls with disabilities through safe and inclusive sports activities. The project speaks to the ideal of ensuring "full and equal guaranty of all human rights and liberties".
