Tottenham Hotspur extends grassroots coaching programme into Bahamas

Tottenham Hotspur has extended its Global Coaching programme into the Caribbean with the formation of a new Super Club in partnership with the Albany resort and Windsor School.

Bahamas Tottenham Hotspur will give boys and girls on the island aged 6-18 the chance to work with authentic UEFA and FA qualified coaches from the Club and compete in tournaments outside of the Bahamas throughout the year.

It becomes Tottenham Hotspur’s third Super Club, in addition to Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur in Florida and Tottenham Hotspur East Bay in California, as part of a continued drive to help develop the game at grassroots level across the world using world renowned methods that have helped bring through the likes of Harry Kane and Danny Rose at the Club’s Academy.

All Bahamas Tottenham Hotspur teams will compete in the Bahamas Football Association leagues, playing and training in the world famous Tottenham Hotspur kit, with sessions taking place at Windsor School.

The U14 and U17 age groups will feature All-Star teams made up of the best young players on the island selected via trials taking place next month.

Grant Cornwell MBE, Head of Global Coaching, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “We are delighted to announce Bahamas Tottenham Hotspur as our latest Super Club.

“The Club has a fantastic track record in developing young players through its Academy and we aim to take these methods throughout the world and give more young people the chance to improve their game by working with our authentic coaching team.”

Damien Michelmore, Vice President, Albany, said: “We are delighted to partner with Tottenham Hotspur’s Global Coaching team to offer every child in the Bahamas the opportunity to play and train as a team under the Tottenham Hotspur brand. Everyone involved is excited about the collaboration and the chance to develop young talent on the island.”
