Beyond Sport is collaborating with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Women Win to advance new and impactful approaches to sport for sustainable development. With a mission to inspire innovation in sport for development, the Olympism365 (O365) Innovation Hub is a multi-year, multi-million dollar initiative that supports cutting-edge initiatives through funding, expert resources and cross-sector collaboration.
The O365 Innovation Hub aims to create a world where sport makes radical, innovative and significant contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will benefit thousands of people and communities by 2026. Learn more here.
What Innovation Means to Us
We believe innovation is delivered when a powerful idea that challenges the status quo is tested, put into action and developed to reach its full potential. Innovation is driven by bold creative culture and behaviors, data and insight and intentional and diverse collaborations. Innovation overcomes barriers, addresses unmet needs, and ultimately has the power to transform communities and systems across the world.
The Problem
The world faces complex and intersecting challenges, and only 17% of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals are on track for delivery by 2030. Innovative, scalable solutions are required to drive critical social and environmental change.
Sport for sustainable development can make unique and significant contributions across multiple sectors to help address these challenges, but we, as a sports community, need to step up to make that happen.
We need to learn from successful innovations in sport for sustainable development, significantly scale what works and create a bold culture of innovation in and through sport.
How It Works
The IOC, Beyond Sport and Women Win are creating an ecosystem that supports the growth and sustainability of innovation in sport for sustainable development. The initiative supports diverse innovators who are overcoming barriers, addressing unmet needs and transforming communities and systems around the world.
To achieve this, the Hub:
- Incubates cutting-edge innovations that maximize the positive impact of sport
- Facilitates knowledge-sharing and learning across the sports movement and social innovation
- Supports organizations and individuals around the world through a multimillion-dollar investment that will benefit thousands of people and communities by 2026
- Brokers partnerships and engage diverse sectors — in and out of sport — to foster new solutions and lasting development in sport for social change.
The program also leverages the skills of expert providers from Think Beyond and READY Sport Global to reach organizations and individuals all over the world creating new ways to approach sport for development.
