Green Sports Alliance enters new era

Green Sports Alliance, a dear friend of Beyond Sport and leading organisation in the field of Sport for the Environment has expanded rapidly since their development four years ago. Building on the sports industry commitment to environmental protection and their growing influencing in this sphere they are entering a new era by recruiting a renowned leadership team and expanding their programmes, visibility and reach. These will help broaden the Alliance’s impact as they work towards advancing sustainability across the sports industry.

Dr. Allen Hershkowitz has been named president of Green Sports Alliance. Allen, a co-founder of the Alliance assumes the position after dedicating incredible years to his work as a Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defence Council, one of the world’s leading environmental organisation. Joining Allen as co-leader of the Green Sports Alliance, Justin Zeulner is now our Chief Operating Officer. Justin, also a co-founder of the Alliance, was previously Senior Project Developer of Philanthropic Campaigns at Paul G. Allen’s Vulcan Inc. Justin has helped the Alliance from its inception establish major influence within the sports industry

Together, Allen and Justin will lead a talented group of environmental and sports business professionals, including new staff members who will be joining us in 2015. In addition to the new team, we will also expand and enhance the programs of the Alliance, which will allow them to better serve their members, create meaningful partnerships and increase benefits to communities.

The Alliance today works with hundreds of teams, venues, leagues and universities to develop innovative and cost competitive solutions to environmental challenges that we all face. With unparalleled resources and leading greening experts, they now embark on a new chapter in their history.
