A quick guide to exploring, connecting and making the most of the platform.
The Beyond Sport Community Portal was built to bring organizations, ideas and opportunities across the sport for social change sector into one place.
With over 100 organizations already signed up—and more joining each week—it’s a great time to participate in this growing global community.
Whether you’re already exploring the platform or just hearing about it for the first time, the Portal is designed to help you connect with peers, discover new programs and access resources to support your work.
Here’s how organizations are using it:
Find organizations and partners
Use the directory to explore organizations working across different regions, sports and focus areas.
For example, a youth organization using boxing in Chicago might be looking to create a cultural exchange for their participants. Through the Portal, they can connect with a group in France running a similar program—opening the door to shared sessions, conversations and cross-cultural learning.
Explore programs and ideas
Looking for inspiration or examples? The Portal allows you to browse initiatives from across the sector—helping you see what’s working, where, and how.
A nonprofit in Nairobi designing a girls’ leadership program through football, for instance, can explore approaches from organizations in Latin America or Southeast Asia, adapting ideas to fit their own community.
Access tools and resources
The resource hub brings together practical tools, guides and training materials to support your work—whether you’re building programs, strengthening governance or meeting funder requirements.
For example, a growing organization preparing to apply for funding might need to formalize key policies. Through the Portal, they can access guides on safeguarding, anti-fraud and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse—helping them meet due diligence requirements and strengthen their internal practices.
Others may be focused on program design or impact. Resources like Theory of Change and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) guides offer practical frameworks to plan, measure and improve their work.
There are also ready-to-use training materials—from coaching toolkits and activity videos to mental health resources and global research—designed to support coaches, staff and young people directly.
Stay connected to the sector
Beyond discovery, the Portal is about connection.
Whether you’re looking for collaborators, want to learn from peers or are exploring how others are addressing similar challenges, the platform helps you better understand who’s working where—and where there may be opportunities to connect and collaborate.
