
With youth mental wellbeing challenges increasing exponentially, Beyond Sport is pleased to continue offering support and resources through our Head In The Game (HITG) Learning Community. The interactive virtual platform brings youth sports coaches, nonprofit leaders, sport and mental health experts, athletes, teams and HITG Campaign Collaborators together to learn, share and inspire collective action – all with a goal to improve youth mental health outcomes in the U.S. and close the gap on inequities.

THE HITG LEARNING COMMUNITY OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO…
- LEARN: Explore a curated collection of articles, podcasts and videos for those working with youth. Content is designed to promote youth mental wellbeing and provide members with tools to create a positive environment for young athletes.
- SHARE: Members can ask questions, share challenges and upload resources aimed at supporting youth in athletic environments. It encourages collaboration, personal journey sharing and contributes to resilience and knowledge-sharing among members.
- ENGAGE: Community members can join workshops and training sessions led by sport and mental health experts, both virtually and in person. These events connect members dedicated to enhancing mental wellbeing and provides valuable knowledge on supporting young participants more effectively. A self-paced course, facilitated by Get Fit Fly Right and curated specifically for the Learning Community is also available.
- CONNECT: Members can create their own interactive micro-communities within the Learning Community platform. “Team Huddles” connect members with shared interests, providing a platform to explore topics, ask questions and engage in discussions.
- CELEBRATE: Members are encouraged to share their stories of success and growth to inspire others, while also highlighting the collective achievements of the Learning Community. It’s a space for breakthrough moments and heartwarming achievements that show how member organizations are positively impacting young lives.
WHAT’S NEW?
TAPtalks 2.0, a self-paced course by program partner Get Fit Fly Right on ‘mental health and mental hygiene,’ is available on the platform. This updated version is designed with those working with youth and caring for them, in mind. It helps members engage with young people in a more meaningful way, equipping them with practical tools for mental wellbeing and enhancing the overall experience for everyone in a sports and youth setting. TAPtalks 2.0 also provides members with the flexibility to learn at their own pace while gaining insights that can be applied immediately in their work.
There’s much more on the horizon for the Learning Community, with new training sessions, workshops and events lined up throughout the year to support members in continuing to develop their leadership capacity.
