Hollywood and world of sports heading to Yankee Stadium

From major league sports team owners to Hollywood actors and media innovators, Beyond Sport has revealed its top-line speakers and VIP guests at Beyond Sport United, to be held at Yankee Stadium on June 11.

Beyond Sport United is focussed on the difference sports teams can make in their communities and their ability to engage youth to make a positive social difference. Speakers at this year’s event will include Jim Caviezel, star of the upcoming movie 'When the Game Stands Tall', based around the 151-game 1992–2003 high school football winning streak by De La Salle High School of Concord, California.

Other key panelists and attendees will include Scott O'Neill, CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils; Rita Benson LeBlanc, owner and vice chairman of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans; Christina Weiss Lurie, owner of the Philadelphia Eagles; and Deanna Castellini, family owner of the Cincinnati Reds and founder of Ugive.org.

Beyond Sport United will also welcome the senior leadership of sports teams including the New York Yankees, Tottenham Hotspur, New York Jets, AS Roma, Toronto Blue Jays, Fulham FC, San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, and New York Mets. They will be joined by innovative technology and media brands including Twitter, Prizeo, ESPN, CHIDEO and more.

Nick Keller, Founder of Beyond Sport, commented: "Sports occupy a unique position, straddling the worlds of entertainment, health, business and more. That allows teams and leagues to play a unique role in their communities – amplified by new media and the digital and technological companies who will be coming together at Yankee Stadium."

Major League Baseball; Major League Soccer; the National Basketball Association; the National Football League; the National Hockey League; and the Women’s National Basketball Association are Founding Supporters of Beyond Sport United – the first time the major US sports leagues have collaborated around the issue of sport and social change.

Beyond Sport United delegate passes are available now at www.beyondsport.org

Beyond Sport’s Global Partners are Barclays, ESPN, TIME and Unicef.
