Beyond Sport Awards 2014 Shortlist Announced

Beyond Sport is delighted to announce the Official Shortlist for the Beyond Sport Awards 2014, supported by Comic Relief.

The Shortlist, selected from over 350 entries and spanning more than 70 countries across the globe, represents the standout work being done to celebrate the use of sport for positive social change.

The 33 nominated initiatives will be invited to the Beyond Sport Summit 2014, where the winners will be announced.

Taking place in Johannesburg from 28 to 30 October, the Summit will bring together the world of sport, business, government and community development, to focus on how sport can unlock the power and creativity of young people across the world.

The Beyond Sport Awards promote, support and reward the best projects across the globe that are using sport for positive social change. Since 2009, Beyond Sport has awarded over 150 projects for their innovations and impact through sport.

The Shortlisted entries from each category will have opportunities for business mentoring, becoming members of an influential group of social entrepreneurs in the sporting sphere.

This year Beyond Sport is excited to announce that Comic Relief will be the official Awards Partner. The three year relationship between Beyond Sport and the largest sport for change funder in the UK will ensure funding for the community award winners and a partnership with the most prestigious grant-maker in the UK.

Beyond Sport's Global Partners are Barclays, TIME and UNICEF. For more information and to book your place at the Beyond Sport Summit 2014, visit www.beyondsport.org/
