Introducing Beyond Sport NextGen powered by NYU SPS

PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION + YOUTH LEADERSHIP, ENGAGEMENT
AND SOCIAL ACTION

As a convener and a supporter of sport’s role in social change, Beyond Sport has been bringing together and celebrating leaders in the field for nearly 10 years. At the close of Beyond Sport United 2018, we were excited to announce the next phase in our partnership with the NYU School of Professional Studies Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport – Beyond Sport Next Gen powered by NYU SPS.

Beyond Sport NextGen is not your average leadership course. Designed around the young leaders’ work schedules, the 12-month journey provides a platform for emerging business leaders to think beyond organizational boundaries and take advantage of opportunities to use sport to tackle complex societal issues.

Some description

The goal is simple: to equip the sports industry’s highest-potential young leaders – age 30 and under – with the understanding, global network and tools they need to integrate socially responsible approaches into their everyday business practices. To continue to expand and improve the way sport can be used as a tool for social change, we want to ensure that we are supporting leaders at every level, and nurturing those with cutting-edge approaches, daring ideas and new ways of thinking about sport as a catalyst.

Each year, Beyond Sport NextGen powered by NYU will pair a diverse cohort of emerging leaders with key players in the sport industry – covering major leagues, teams, companies, agencies, media and governing bodies. The 12-month experience will create an infrastructure for NextGen leaders and partner organizations to benefit from the development of a diverse, sustainable network of the sport industry’s future leaders, representing key stakeholders invested in North American sport.
